3rd Annual Support Local Online Auction
Surpasses $35K Fundraising Goal
The Morton 201 Foundation, in partnership with the Berwyn Development Corporation and the Cicero Chamber of Commerce, hosted its 3rd Annual Support Local Online Auction from November 27 to December 3 to raise money for its Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund.
Thanks to the outpouring of support by many local businesses, alumni and individuals, the Foundation received 100 amazing auction items valued at almost $11,000. For the third year in a row, the Support Local Online Auction surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over $37,000 for student scholarships!
Even though the online auction itself raised a little over $6,000, the Foundation received almost $31,000 in corporate sponsorships, including a $10,000 donation from an anonymous sponsor.
“We are thrilled to see so many Morton alumni and local business supporting our mission and efforts. Every year our online auction continues to grow as word spreads about the great work we do,” stated Foundation President Jessica Jaramillo-Flores. “Since 2019, the Foundation has awarded 32 scholarships totaling $50,000 and thanks to the generous and ongoing support we receive every year, we can keep that momentum going.”
