Addams Family Dinner & Theatre Night
Addams Family Marks Foundation's 4th Dinner & Theatre Night
On Friday, November 11, the Morton 201 Foundation hosted its fourth Dinner & Theatre Night: The Addams Family in the Great Room at the Freshman Academy at Morton West. The event was hugely successful and raised over $5,800 for the Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund.
Guests were treated to a delicious play-inspired specialty drink (Smokin’ Gomez) and a four-course meal planned and prepared by Morton West and Morton East Culinary Arts students, followed by VIP seating for the performance in the Morton West Auditorium. In keeping with the night’s creepy, spooky and all together ooky theme, attendees were also able to view a colony of tarantulas up close and personal before dinner.
Appetizes included: Deviled Eggs, Bloody Chorizo Bites and Jalapeño Mummy Poppers.
The main course consisted of Bewitched Brussel Sprouts Salad, Spooky Skewers of Chicken and Steak Kabobs served with Purple Mashed Potatoes and Bloody Balsamic Root Vegetables.
A sweet table of delicious Red Velvet and OREO Truffles, Mini Scream Cheesecakes with Strawberry Sauce and Cousin It Kibble rounded out the menu.
During the event, a quintet of student musicians played during appetizers and guests enjoyed a private meet and greet with the main cast members including: Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Fester, Grandma, Lurch, Cousin It, Lucas, Alice and Mal.
Attendees also had the opportunity to take souvenir photos with the cast against an Addams Family inspired backdrop provided by Jose Hector Ramirez from Gabriel Studio. His wife, Araceli, created the beautiful Addams Family souvenir mugs which served as vases for the lovely centerpieces donated by V&A Flowers. These centerpieces were later auctioned off at the end of the night along with signed cast posters.
Guests had the opportunity to win one of four fabulous raffle prizes including:
- 6 Addams Family Cupcakes donated by CrumbCrusher & Lulu's
- Winner: Krista Digweed
- 6 Addams Family Cookies donated by CrumbCrusher & Lulu's
- Winner: Joanne Campbell
- Dinner for Two Gift Card from 5 Rabanitos
- Winner: Sue Kleinmeyer
- 100th Anniversary Cookbook donated by Cicero Public Library

After dinner, the Morton 201 Foundation presented honored guests, Eileen & John Szubert, Morton East Class of '85 alums, with one of its first Pay It Forward Awards for their ongoing and continued support of the Foundation's mission and efforts. Since 2019, Eileen & John have helped to raise almost $5,300 for the Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund.
